About Me

My name is Helen Froggatt and I am 30 years old. My career path took a different route prior to setting up my business The Serendipity Touch . I have a degree in psychology from Sheffield University and a psychiatric nursing qualification from Sheffield Hallam. During my time in nursing I carried out another degree in Psychosocial Interventions – exploring the psychological and social aspects of mental illness. I still practise as a psychiatric nurse on a part time basis.

I have always had an interest in holistic therapies along with spiritualism and this developed further following a recent period of ill health. I suffered a stroke in March 2006. During this difficult time I felt compelled to re-evaluate my lifestyle. Despite my illness there were positive aspects to my physical health that would normally be in question with a stroke– average weight, below average cholesterol level and I even had low blood pressure. So I was now faced with examining my own emotional, mental and spiritual health. For someone who does this on a daily basis with patients, the tables were now turned – not always easy!

It is simple to carry on regardless throughout major life events and stresses of life without attending to your own needs. However if you let the stresses of your life build up without letting yourself heal on all levels (physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually) your body is left out of balance and lacking its natural resources to cope with stress. This is when our immune system is depleted and we feel tense, anxious and depressed. It is when we are out of balance that development of illness is more likely. The experience of my stroke led me to finally make adjustments to the way I lived my life. Through holistic therapies I have learnt to get back in touch with myself, allowing me to heal, re-energise and generally feel more balanced. Learning to change into a healthier lifestyle is an enormous challenge but sometimes we have no choice.

During the recovery from my stroke I found myself faced with endless adverts of reiki, and other holistic therapies along with training prospects that I simply knew it was the right path to take - at first from the receiving aspect and subsequently from a professional point of view.

I believe that events or even people step into your life assisting us to make these useful discoveries or changes, or as I have called it, The Serendipity Touch !

I have recovered extremely well from my stroke and have noticed profound improvements in my lifestyle – that is why I am so passionate about promoting and providing holistic health therapies.

So let SERENDIPITY touch your life…
